I thought I was done with Haneke, but you've sucked me back in! That all sounds fascinating. I only recently saw 'Village of the Damned' for the first time, and was much impressed. I don't know why it took me so long, being a huge Wyndham fan. The less said about the recent BBC 'Triffids' remake the better, though. And there's a tie-in with an awful cover: ISBN 978-0141043555

Sucking is good.

A friend has told me that The White Ribbon seemed more formulaic on second viewing; which may be a good reason for avoiding a second viewing.

And that Triffids cover: Christ, yes, awful. What's going on when one day they're employing David Pearson and the next they're cobbling together that visual offence?
